How to play Pure Patience

The object of Pure Patience is to place the cards in the window as described by the simple rules below:

Initial layout

The cards are shuffled and placed on the desk in 4 rows with 13 cards in each. The way you place cards on a desk in a traditional patience card game usually depends on your liking, spirits or whim, but the software will do it for you, and you will only have to do the most interesting thing - to play the game!

The starting card

The starting card is the leftmost card in the uppermost row. It designates the starting suit and rank. This card cannot be relocated during the game.

Final disposition (object of the game)

The game is won when the following conditions are met:

1 Each row contains a full suit. There may be only one suit per row.
2 Suits follow each other in the following order:

o Clubs
o Hearts
o Spades
o Diamonds

The suit designated by the starting card begins the sequence, the way suits succeed each other must be preserved.

3 Ranks in each row are lined up in either ascending or descending order, e.g.:

o 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - Jack - Queen - King – Ace

The rank that ends a row, begins the next row.

4 Ascending and descending orders alternate as follows:

o 1st row ascending from left to right
o 2nd row descending from left to right
o 3rd row ascending from left to right

o o 4th row descending from left to right

Example

Assuming the starting card is 7 of spades, the game is completed if:

1 row 1 is: 7 of spades - 8 of spades - ... - Ace of spades - 2 of spades - ... - 6 of spades;
2 row 2 is: 6 of diamonds - ... - 2 of diamonds - Ace of diamonds - ... - 8 of diamonds - 7 of diamonds;
3 row 3 is: 7 of clubs - 8 of clubs - ... - Ace of clubs - 2 of clubs - ... - 6 of clubs;
4 row 4 is: 6 of hearts - ... 2 of hearts - Ace of hearts - ... - 8 of hearts - 7 of hearts.

Playing the game

During a move, you can swap two cards only if an adjacent card on the new place (on either side, above, or below) has an immediately higher or lower rank and belongs to the same suit. The only exception is that you can swap two adjacent cards if their ranks are consecutive to each other, and they belong to the same suit.

(arrows show cards that can be swapped during a move, the color shows adjacent cards “on the new place” that belong to the same suit and have immediately higher (lower) ranks)

To exchange cards:

· click on by one from card left by the button mouse, it (the card) owes it is a little to rise
· for exchange by this card click left by the button mouse on another to card, with which you want to change by places already chosen card
· if you do not want to change chosen card, click on by it still time left

Quick help

If you still not very much well understand rules of game, or not very much quickly can to find cards, which you want to change, that for it can to take advantage « Quick help move », having pressed appropriate button on panels tools. In mode helps course at choice card ( left by the button mouse ) is inverted colour those cards, which it is possible to change by places with chosen. For exchange also press on anyone from them left by the button mouse.

Pause / resume

In it mode cards are visible or obverse by the party, or by shirt upwards.
